(Update: I gave it some new music, hopefully it's better now.)

I tried to make something a little more expressive with this one. It's not really meant to be fun exactly; it's an attempt to convey my feelings and fears about aging. It's inspired in a lot of ways by Passage, I'll admit, but I think I covered the topic from a different angle. It'll last about 2 minutes. Let me know what you think, or if you find any bugs.  =| :^)

Hey,

I would have preferred if you didn't show any HUD. No info on coins, speed, jump, or time. It was way too obvious now what was happening.

The engine, the running and jumping, didn't feel very smooth. If it did the contrast between how you start out and how you end up would have been more strong, I think.

As I played I started questioning whether I should even collect coins, which I thought was interesting (thinking about how in life it's not just about materialism etc etc).. but that's just what I saw in it.

Anyway nice attempt. It's always interesting if someone makes something personal.

Thanks, I'll think about taking out the HUD, and improving the smoothness of the engine. Good suggestions.

Interesting concept, but it would definitely work better without the hud, it just makes it waaaay to obvious what's going on.

Very good piece in many respects, but could be a lot more polished. I love the way that as the game progresses, the environment becomes more colourful, yet the player's sprite and the coins become more gray. Nice touch.

As already suggested, remove the HUD, it distracts the player's eyes. Make the music fit the game and graphics more - I would suggest making it sound more retro by adding plenty of 8-bittines. Also, there are some really interesting and poignant concepts here, so I would expand them as much as you can. (The ending was cool, too).

Oh, and I couldn't help but think of Passage and the other games that dude's made whilst playing, and I'm afraid this game just didn't hit me as hard. There's something about Passage and that other one which I can't remember the name of which just draws you in and hits you where it hurts.

I dunno, maybe I'm talking jibberish.

Thanks for the good feedback, guys. Next update: no HUD. I'm trying to smooth out and improve the movement, but that may be a bit beyond my Game Maker knowledge. I'll see what I can do.

Edit: Game is now updated.

That was awesome, I reckon it's a way better look at the concept than Passage because you actually sort of see the difference age is making. I only got what was happening about halfway through.

If I'd played it before Passage it'd probably have affected me more than Passage did (i.e. none).

I think the "score" at the end is kinda unnecessary though
